The Trustees of the SafeDeposits Scotland Charitable Trust met in June and agreed to award funding grants to three organisations.
Bellshill based Share Learning Ltd was awarded £15,000 towards a Tenant PRS Portal project. The project will see the development of a dynamic learning portal for PRS tenants to access a suite of educational material on the sector, along with custom tools offering a pathway to qualifications and potentially a career in housing and property.
£11,780 was awarded to Southside Community Centre Association SCIO in Edinburgh, where a Resilient Renters initiative will be delivered. Resilient Renters will take the form of weekly sessions to educate PRS tenants on their rights and responsibilities.
The largest of the three grants, £123,375, was awarded to the University of Strathclyde Law Clinic for three years' funding of its Housing Dispute Resolution Project. The project aims to provide advice and support to PRS landlords and tenants who cannot otherwise afford or access legal advice.
